Guide for Submissions

  • Contributions should be sent both in hard copy, and as an MSWord document, to the Executive Editor. The editors take no responsibility for unsolicited manuscripts.
  • Contributions for the "Articles" or "Conference" sections will be refereed by an international Editorial Board, assisted if necessary by other experts. Generally, such contributions should be between 5-14,000 words of text (including footnotes), and decisions will be notified within four weeks of submission. Other contributions will not be refereed, unless the author so requests upon submission.
  • Authors consent to the Journal, if it accepts such contributions, (a) submitting the final abstract of the work to the Legal Scholarship Network (www.ssrn.com/lsn) for online publication in "Asian Law Abstracts" (if accepted by that series); and (b) publishing the full work (including any abstract) in any category, if not in German, online on the websites of the DJJV (e.g. www.djjv.org) and/or ANJeL (e.g. www.law.usyd.edu.au/anjel).
  • All contributions should include an abstract of at least 500 words for longer articles and 250 words for shorter notes. The editors will translate this into German for the hard-copy publication.
  • All contributions should include the author's name, title or position, work address and e-mail address, to be included only in the hard-copy publication.
  • All contributions should follow the Style Guide available at www.djjv.org/japrecht/japrecht.html and www.law.usyd.edu.au/anjel. It can also be requested without charge from the Executive Editor at the above address. The Editors reserve the right to make minimal stylistic changes.
  • The Journal prefers original contributions, not yet submitted elsewhere, but may publish some reprinted or adapted publications. For these, the author shall provide any necessary copyright clearances. Otherwise, copyright in contributions to the Journal shall vest in the DJJV and the MPI. This is primarily to protect authors, and the Journal will provide copyright releases for re-publication by authors.
  • Contributions with a by-line represent solely the opinion of the author named and not necessarily that of the editors, the DJJV, the MPI or ANJeL.
